Its research and teaching arm is the Southern Africa Regional Institute for Policy Studies (SARIPS) (a legally separate entity since 1999): see separate entry
Other units include the Southern Africa Printing and Publishing House (SAPPHO) and the publication of SAPEM (Southern African Political & Economic Monthly)
