Isis Women's International Cross Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE)
Isis-Women's International Cross Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE) is a global action oriented women's organisation based in Uganda. Named after "Isis," the ancient Egyptian goddess of wisdom, creativity and knowledge, it seeks to overcome gender inequality through communicating ideas, creating solidarity networks and sharing information. Activities include documenting violations of womens rights and facilitating the exchange of information and skills.
Founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1974, Isis-WICCE relocated to Uganda in 1993 to tap the voices of African women, linking their concerns and issues to the debates and campaigns taking place at the international level.
