Valuing Health Workers Research and Advocacy
A clear, concise 2 page publication to introduce the research and advocacy programme designed to provide evidence for governments on how best to change policy and implementation to address health worker shortages. A clear summary of aims is supported by short summaries of research done in Uganda, Cambodia and Malawi. The focus is on conducting qualititative research into the views of health workers themselves at all levels in order to lobby nationally and globally to improve conditions and hence recruitment and retention of health workers. This work is conducted in the context of a global shortages of an estimated 4.3 million health workers.
