Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR)
Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) helps rural people in India to alleviate poverty through participatory watershed development and management.
Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation founded in 1993, currently operating in five 5 Indian states: Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand.
WOTR is specialised in the field of participatory watershed development and climate change adaptation. It relies on its on-field experience and in a systemic, and primarily participatory, approach to watershed development.
WOTR’s mandate is to reduce poverty through mobilising the self-help capacities of individuals and communities to regenerate their living environments, harvest rain water and use it productively, and to undertake sustainable livelihoods and other actions to alleviate poverty.
