Social change through the info lady experience
This paper looks at the formation of groups and sustainability through an innovative model of ICT-based rural women's entrepeneurship in Bangladesh, known as the Info Lady Model. It looks at the selection and training of these Info Ladies, how these women have been able to connect the local people to livelihood information and facilitate the creation of knowlledge networks in rural Bangladesh, and how they have gone beyond the project objective to become self-sufficient and empowered. This paper is based on a visit to Shahghata Upazilla in Gaibandha District of Bangladesh in June 2012.
