Putting children at the heart of disaster risk reduction

This issue promotes a child-centered disaster risk reduction (DRR) approach in India in order to reduce disaster risk and climate change impact on their lives and development. The content considers: (i) child centered DRR means putting children at the heart of DRR; (ii) the role of India's national and state governments in promoting child rights and child-centered DRR; (iii) promoting child rights and child-centered DRR at the policy level; (iv) emergency management exercises as tools for developing child-centered disaster management plans; (v) child-centered DRR in Guwahati, Assam; (vi) child-centred DRR and child rights; and (vii) launch of state platform for children in Bihar.
