Effective use of community participation in relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of Alappad Panchayat post tsunami

This paper focuses on Sahayi’s intervention post Tsunami in 2004, in Alappad Panchayat, Kollam District. Sahayi’s intervention in the process of relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction involved a creative participatory approach. This led to the community taking active participation in rebuilding their own lives which helped them to maintain their dignity as human beings.
