African Population and Health Research Center, Nairobi, Kenya (APHRC)

Formerly known as the African Population Policy Research Center, the APHRC is an international non-profit and non-governmental organisation with headquarters in Kenya. Its current research particularly focuses on urban health and poverty, reflecting the importance of rapid urbanisation and the related urban health crisis to African population growth.

As well as conducting research, the APHRC runs workshops, methodological seminars, and conferences as part of its efforts to strengthen professional and institutional research capacity in the region. It also offers post-doctoral research fellowships; a visiting scholar programme; a research traineeship programme; and research internships.
