The city regions are potentially the major players in the global economy. In the dynamic environment of global market, regions are rapidly being changed in economic character and industrial restructuring because of the technological innovation and changes leading to complexities for analysis. The growing complexities are due to: changing industrial structureand agglomerations led by new technologies, growing income inequality among the regions,tension between micro and macro phenomena under increasing global pressure of marketforces. Some methodological approaches discussed in the paper, however, have merits even inthis changing situation.
