How significant is private sector engagement in different countries across Asia and what proportion is it of overall activity on the ground? The private sector is one of the key actors developing forest carbon projects across several countries in Asia along with government agencies, NGOs, and multilateral and bilateral donor projects. By private sector engagement, we mean projects developed by private enterprises or with private sector investment in the early stages. We exclude projects where the private sector acts purely as a late-stage carbon credit buyer.
