Job: UNICEF Uganda announces Research Opportunity - Situation Analysis of Child Poverty and Disparities in Uganda
Closing date: 30 August 2010
The Government of Uganda (GoU), in partnership with UNICEF, the National Council for Children (NCC) and the Uganda Child Rights NGO Network (UCRNN) are implementing a new Situation Analysis on Child Poverty and Disparities in Uganda.
This analysis involves two components: Part 1 – a Child Poverty Study – is a quantitative analysis of child poverty using a multi-dimensional approach and existing statistical data, and Part 2 – the Voices of Children – is a qualitative analysis of the views, perceptions and priorities of children across the country.Theses two components are meant to be complementary, but will be conducted as two separate pieces of research most likely by two separate research teams. UNICEF Uganda is seeking the services of high-level research institutions or consultant firms to conduct this research.Within the terms of reference, the general approach to conducting the studies is outlined; however, innovative or alternative approaches to either study are welcome and highly encouraged. The intent is to have the Situation Analysis implemented with state-of-the-art thinking and methodological approaches to the subject.
