All JPO posts are based at the Federation’s Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. This scheme is open to EU nationals only. IDF is a progressive international federation of over 200 national diabetes associations with 2 million members in more than 160 countries and territories. IDF has recently decided to establish a programme on women and diabetes to support the 143 million women currently living with diabetes, and galvanise action for the 222 million women expected to have diabetes by 2030. The programme will aim to strengthen the evidence base on the burden of diabetes and gestational diabetes on women; raise awareness of and political commitment to women and diabetes as a priority global health and development issue; improve health systems sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of women living with diabetes, and promote women and girls as key agents in diabetes prevention strategies.
