Job: International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) seeks Senior Hydrologist, Nepal

ICIMOD is a regional knowledge development and learning centre serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush-Himalayas (HKH) – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan. We're working to develop an economically and environmentally sound mountain ecosystem to improve the living standards of mountain populations -– now, and for the future. ICIMOD has embarked on basin scale initiatives, which includes, basin-wide water availability and demand hydrology, climate change scenarios changes in the water availability due to cryospheric changesand regional hydrometerological information sharing. ICIMOD is seeking to recruit a Senior Hydrologist with outstanding knowledge on river basin wide hydrology with particular knowledge of melt water generation and its downstream usages, climate model downscaling and climate change scenarios.
H/She shall also have a thorough understanding of flood and flash flood hazards in the rivers basins, status of flood forecasting and early warning systems and transboundary cooperation preferably in the HKH region.
