SAfAIDS is a regional HIV/AIDS resource (RHR) established in 1994 and based in Zimbabwe. The organisation's goal is to disseminate HIV/AIDS information in order to promote, inform and support appropriate responses to the epidemic in the fields of HIV prevention, care, long-term planning and coping with the impact.

SAfAIDS primary objectives and strengths include:

  • building capacity for other non-governmental organisations to enhance a multiplier effects in good practice in the southern African region
  • information production, collection and dissemination to varied target audience
  • building partnerships and networking with organisations working in the area of HIV and AIDS prevention and mitigation
  • leadership in identifying and addressing cutting edge issues
