CSO Engagement Manager

  • Full time, 12 month contract with option to extend

The Program

The Australian Government is committed to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of its aid program, working in partnership with the Government of Fiji and other key stakeholders.

The Australian Government has established the Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) to implement its education, health and scholarship aid programs in Fiji and its scholarship program in Tuvalu. The Facility will also support the delivery of Australia’s emergency response efforts following natural disasters, and governance sector support when requested by the Fiji Government.

As with all Australian Government aid, cross cutting priorities of civil society engagement, gender equality, disability inclusiveness, child protection, climate change and disaster risk resilience will be integrated across all programs.

The company managing the Facility on behalf of the Australian Government, Coffey, is currently seeking applications for the position of CSO Engagement Manager in the Facility’s management unit.

The Position

The CSO Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of the DFAT Australia-Fiji Civil Society Engagement Strategy (2016-2019) and managing the development and implementation of CSO activities, including overseeing capacity building approaches and calls for proposals for grants. The position will work closely with sectoral program teams to ensure integration of CSO activities with sectoral program priorities (e.g. in health and education sectors).

The Person

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and will demonstrate experience in development programming with civil society organisations including the design of capacity development activities; combined with experience establishing grants systems and contributing to monitoring and evaluation of programs. An ability to mainstream cross cutting themes of gender equity, violence against women, people with disabilities, child protection and good governance in program activities and knowledge of the Civil Society sector in Fiji will be required for success.
