We're hiring! Come and work for the IDS Open Knowledge and Digital Services team

Do you want to come and work for the Open Knowledge and Digital Services team at IDS? We're looking for two new staff members to work on projects like Eldis and OKhub.org.

You will be joining a team of people that are committed to promoting open diverse and equitable knowledge creation and sharing in international development. We design and deliver web services, tools and related multimedia content whilst at the same time being mindful of the inequalities that exist in the way that technology can be adopted and used in different contexts around the world.

The two posts (both fixed term contracts) are:

Content co-ordinator


The role requires working between our technical and editorial staff and our partners to improve how our content is structured and organised in order to maximise its usefulness to the users of our services. You will need to be technically able, meticulous, creative and a good communicator. 

Due to funding this post is fixed term. We are looking for someone to hit the ground running with excellent data and content management skills, the ability to explain technical concepts in a way that non-technical people understand and a commitment to open knowledge principles and approaches. If that is you then we would very much like to hear from you. 

Salary: £24,542 - £29,783 pro rata, per annum

Web Applications Developer

We are looking for an additional developer to join our team who can participate in collaborative projects and technical partnership development. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of open data technologies and demonstrable effective use of Internet programming, database and server software in the Linux environment. 

Due to project funding, this post is fixed term. We require someone to quickly get up to speed and help us to deliver research content in new and innovative ways. If you have got what it takes technically and are good at explaining technology in a way that people understand then we would like to hear from you. 

Salary: Grade 6 (£24,458 - £36,658 per annum)
