View full report

This document provides the methodology for writing a case study of a pro poor tourism (PPT) initiative. The method looks at 2 key questions:
  • What strategies are being used to enhance impacts on the poor?
  • What impacts do these strategies have on the poor: positive and negative, financial and nonfinancial, and for whom?

The report gives an introduction to the context of the initial PPT project, when six worldwide case studies were carried out, and briefly explores the methodology's strengths and weaknesses.

The remainder of the document consists of the original instructions given to those six case study authors, which detail the questions to asked, how "the poor" are to be defined and how impact is to be measured. A comanion reading list is also supplied
