Using the experience of the Community-Based Natural Resource Management Network, the paper assesses some of the issues currently facing the global NGO sector, more specifically civil society and NGOs in the South. It looks at efforts to rethink and regroup in order to meet the challenges of the future, using the examples of the World Bank and the International Association for the Study of Common Property (IASCP).
Paper prepared for the Ninth Biennial Conference of the International Association for the Study of Common Property (IASCP), Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 17-21 June 2002
