Agris

International network on agricultural research and associated sciences/activities. Collects and disseminates information on research publications, research projects and other related items. The bibliographical database gives emphasis to non-conventional literature from developing countries. The databases are also available on CD-ROM.

Produces bibliographical database on international agriculture, agricultural research and associated sciences/activities. Offers some 3 million references to either conventional (journal articles, books) or non-conventional materials (sometimes called "grey literature" e.g. theses, reports, etc.,) not available through normal commercial channels. Produced by FAO (but includes both FAO and non FAO data, collected through a network of 161 national and 31 international/intergovernmental centres). Data is from 1969 to date.

Database available (free) on the FAO WWW site.

Available commerically on Dialog (file 203), Data-Star, DIMDI, ESA-IRS and on Agralin (see separate entry).

Also available on CDROM (two discs, 1975-1990, 1991 to date) from Silverplatter.

A CRDOM of forestry-only materials from 1986-95 is also available (free)
