Global Environment Facility Environmental Information Infrastructure (EII) for Latin America and the Caribbean (GEF)

Organisation creating a decentralised electronic framework for the sharing of environmental information across Latin America and the Caribbean, specifically in connection with information required as part of the Global Environment Facility implementation process.

WWW site aims to be both a central resource and a source of material more locally created WWW sites. Plans to load locally-produced pages onto the central site: currently these include pages on their project on managing biodiversity in the coastal zone of the Dominican Republic. Central site offers: information on the GEF project management framework (including project cycle); information on GEF in Latin America (including projects per country); information on plans to develop software tools to support Internet searching and publishing; links to related sites.
