Promotes action against the erosion of agricultural biodiversity
Non-profit organisation which promotes the sustainable management and use of agricultural biodiversity based on people's control over genetic resources and local knowledge.
The website includes three main themed areas: The "Fight for rights" where intellectual property rights are being imposed around the world; "Agricultural research for whom?" which questions how agricultural research is carried out increasingly away from farmers (including the use of GMOs); and "Growing resistance" which shows how people are coming together to strengthen or gain control over their livelihoods and biodiversity.
GRAIN publishes two quarterly magazines in English (Seedling) and Spanish (Biodiversidad), plus numerous briefings and other short papers in English, French and Spanish.
