International Centre for Distance Learning (ICDL)

International Centre for Distance Learning (ICDL) is a documentation centre specialising in collecting and disseminating information on distance education world-wide. ICDL is part of the Open University Institute of Educational Technology.

WWW site includes 2 databases (free access), which are also available on CDROM:

(a) Distance Learning Institutions and Courses Database: contains information on institutions world-wide teaching at a distance together with details of programmes and courses offered by some of these institutions.

(b) Distance Education Library: contains references, including abstracts, to the literature relating to all aspects of distance education. Contents of database reflect contents of its library collection (open to the public)

WWW site also has bibliography of major sources, information on ICDL Update (quarterly newsletter), list of journals in distance education.
