Guidelines for aid agencies on disaster mitigation
These guidelines are intended to increase awareness among those involved in designing and implementing development co-operation programmes of the threats posed by natural hazards and of the range of measures that may be adopted so as to reduce their impacts on developing countries. They are aimed at officials responsible for aid policy and those responsible for administering aid programmes in countries which are exposed to a range of natural hazards and which are particularly vulnerable. They assume no prior specialist knowledge in the natural hazard and disaster field.
