The functions of habitats must be evaluated as part of cost/benefit analysis of programs
The objectives of the current review are:
- to inform EA practitioners, task team leaders (TTLs), executing agencies and other project stakeholders about the costs and benefits of effective treatment of biodiversity in project design, acceptance and long-term sustainability
- to outline pragmatic and cost-effective approaches and methods to achieve effective treatment of biodiversity in EA and for a range of project investment types and scales
- to assess the implications of the above for the management of EA in the World Bank
