Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC)

The ERIC system, through its 16 subject-specific clearinghouses, associated adjunct clearinghouses, and support components, provides a variety of services and products that can help you stay up to date on a broad range of education-related issues. Products include research summaries, bibliographies, reference and referral services, computer searches, and document reproduction.

Products available via its WWW site include:

(a) ERIC database: 850,000 abstracts of documents and articles in the field of education. Available in differenet subsets. Also available on different host sites (list available on ERIC WWW)

(b) ERIC Digests: 1,600 two-page syntheses of the best, most topics in current education research. Includes bibliographical references (USA bias)

(c) Hosts some 20 discussion list on education topics (with online archives)

(d) Directory of education conferences and centres (USA bias)

(e) ERIC Reviews: Provides education practitioners with research and news; announces important ERIC developments and new products and services, and presents recent research findings. Each issue has a specific subject focus

(f) AskEric: collections of lesson plans, ERIC searches, ERIC Digests, AskERIC Infoguides: synthesising materials for breifing purposes
