World bank Institute incorporates the former Economic Development Institute (EDI) and Learning and Leadership Center. "The World Bank Institute provides training and other learning activities that support the World Bank's mission to reduce poverty and improve living standards in the developing world. WBI's programs help build the capacity of World Bank borrowers, staff, and other partners in the skills and knowledge that are critical to economic and social development."

Divisions include: Environment and Natural Resources; Human Development; Knowledge Products and Outreach; Governance, Regulation and Finance; Economic Policy and Poverty Reduction
