Global Environmental Facility Evaluation Office (GEF Evaluation Office)

The GEF Evaluation Office is an independent evaluation entity within the Global Environment Facility, and reports directly to the GEF Council on monitoring and evaluation matters. It has responsibilities in three main areas:

• Evaluation – it independently evaluates the effectiveness of GEF projects and programmes
• Norms – it establishes monitoring and evaluation standards
• Oversight – it provides quality control for monitoring and evaluation by Implementing and Executing Agencies of GEF projects and programmes
