Education Quality (EdQual)

EdQual is a research programme consortium on implementing education quality in low income countries. It aims to provide policy makers and practitioners with new knowledge, initiatives and a sustainable research capacity to assist them in improving the quality of education, particularly for disadvantaged learners.

EdQual conducts five large scale projects:

• school effectiveness and education quality in Southern and East Africa
• implementing curriculum change to reduce poverty and to increase gender equity
• the use of ICT to support basic education in disadvantaged schools and communities in Low Income Countries
• literacy and language development through primary education
• leadership and management of change for quality improvement.
