World Income Inequality Database, UNDP - WIDER (WIID)

Provides statistical information on income inequalities at both cross-country and time series levels
Database providing statistical information on income inequalities at both cross-country and time series levels. It presents data on changes in income inequality over the period 1950-98, with a particular focus on the period since 1980 for 149 countries (developed, developing, and transition countries)

The WWW browsing version is currently limited to country level times-series of Gini Coefficients, with an assessment of the data's reliability. A downloadable version (including a Microsoft Access option) is also available: this includes both Gini and income share data. A bibliography of the sources used is also available

The dataset is a development of the 1997 Deininger-Squire dataset compiled at the World Bank
