Analyses global environmental and development problems
The council is primarily involved in:
- analyzing and reporting on global environment and development problems
- assessing national and international research in the field of global change,
- drawing attention to new problems as they arise
- identifying gaps in research
- providing impulses for interdisciplinary and practically oriented research on global change
- monitoring national and international policies for the achievement of sustainable development and developing and disseminating recommendations on research and strategic responses for policymakers and the wider public
