Non-Contributory Pensions and Poverty Prevention: a comparative study of South Africa and Brazil (NCPPS)

The implementation of well-designed and sustainable non-contributory pension programmes in developing countries can reduce poverty among older beneficiaries
Collaborative project assessing the potential of non-contributory pension income to reduce and prevent poverty among older beneficiaries and their households in developing countries. The project compares and examines non-contributory pension programmes in Brazil and South Africa and aims to identify particular strategies for possible introduction and implementation of such programmes in other developing countries.
