Innovation and Investment: Information and Communication Technologies and the Millennium Development Goals
This paper explores the relations ship between Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and shows how ICTs can play a critical enabling and catalytic role across the UN’s development agenda. It tackles aspects of policy and partnership dialogue in moving forward as well as the impact of technological innovation and the practical application of ICTs in the development context.

By highlighting the global public goods and other unique characteristics of ICTs and the MDGs, the report outlines the elements of a concrete action plan – the creation of a global partnership for multi-sectoral
and multidisciplinary collaboration – like the Internet and mobile revolutions – to promote ICTs for development worldwide.
