Norwegian support to Tanzanian traditional energy
The Government of Norway supported the Tanzania Traditional Energy Development and Environment Organisation (TaTEDO) programme ‘Integrated Modern Energy Services for Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction’ (IMESPORE) with 10 million NOK for three years (2008-2010). The goal of the programme was to contribute to sustainable development and poverty reduction by enhancing access to sustainable modern energy technologies and services for consumptive and productive needs in households, SMEs and social service centres in eight regions.
The purpose of the review is to assess the progress, achievements and effectiveness of implementation of the programme, identify lessons learned and provide recommendations on the way forward. Specifically it reviews:
