The 2010 Global Consultations on Farmers' Rights: Results from an Email-based Survey

This report presents the results of the e-mail based survey on Farmers? Rights. The consultations were organized in response to Resolution 6/2009 of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. A total of 131 respondents from 36 countries participated. Through the questionnaire the respondents shared their views and experiences on the realization of Farmers? Rights, including achievements, obstacles and options. The prime concern among most participants was the need for guidance, support and capacity building to develop or adjust national legislation, policies, strategies and programs for the realization of Farmers? Rights.
