FDI into Latin America and the Caribbean reached US$113bn in 2010, 40% up from 2009, and is expected to grow by 15-25% in 2011. FDI outflows from Latin American economies grew even more, to reach US$43bn, reflecting the rapid international expansion of Mexican, Brazilian and Chilean corporations. This annual publication from the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) reports on investment flows in all economies of the region and analyses determinants and impacts. This year there are special chapters on Chinese investments, telecom operators and the software industry.
