Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD)

The Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD) promotes people-centred sustainable development by innovation, application and advancement of appropriate scientific, technical and local knowledge through research, developing models, demonstration and implementation. The research institute was formed in 2006 to implement participatory action research, development policy research and advocacy on climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, development of alternative livelihoods and mainstreaming disaster risk reduction into development policies. CPRD aims to develop effective communication tools for reducing rural-urban and North-South technology and knowledge gaps, and to facilitate poor people’s access to resources and contemporary knowledge and skills.
