The report contains an event description of the platform Governance Advocacy Forum (GAF), established in 2007 aiming to promote democratic decentralisation and local self government through campaign and policy advocacy in Bangladesh. At present, the forum consists of 36 national and international non-government organisations, networks, local government platforms, concerned institutions and civil society representatives. GAF in the form of policy advocacy has been continuing to press upon the demand for the formulation of a national decentralisation policy and made some progress, as mentioned in the report. The report also upholds the necessity of the policy in country context, experts’ comment and background of GAF's movement etc. in favor of a decentralisation policy.
