National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF)

The National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility is a research community in a national interdisciplinary effort to generate the information needed by decision-makers in government and in vulnerable sectors and communities to manage the risks of climate change impacts. It was established by the Australian Government in 2008 to harness and coordinate the capabilities of Australia’s researchers, to generate and communicate the knowledge decision-makers need for successful adaptation to climate change.

Core objectives:
  • identify knowledge needs of end users
  • build and harness the capacity of the research and end user community
  • generate the knowledge to meet end user needs
  • make knowledge available to end-users.
