Evidence base on the impact of ill-health on individuals and households

Many studies examine the effects of ill-health including HIV and AIDS on households. Some studies look specifically at the gender-specific effects of the poverty-ill-health vicious circle in cases where the burden of caring for a sick person falls primarily on female members of the household, or where women as key producers and carers are affected by ill-health. The literature in this area is very broad.
