Research funder policies

Many funding agencies now require you, the author, to retain copyright and to make your articles available in a repository, usually within 6–12 months of publication. Therefore research funding bodies tend to cover the costs of OA publishing/ self- archiving as part of their grants. This means that you can include the cost of open access archiving in your grant proposal.
