ILEIA's objective is to promote the development and adoption of Low External Input and Sustainable Agriculture (LEISA) in collaboration with farmers in the third world. LEISA is seen as a viable alternative to conventional agriculture in order to increase production and ensure food security in marginal areas. ILEIA collects, exchanges and disseminates information on LEISA experiences and practices, primarily through its quarterly magazine. Through networking with regional partners around information exchange ILEIA tries to build a stronger global constituency for the development and adoption of LEISA.
The website includes full text from its LEISA Magazine and from the regional partners' Magazines, access to its library database, links to organizations and individuals and to events in the field of LEISA.
