Citizen rights, participation and democratisation in biotechnology governance

The Centre for Innovation, Knowledge and Development, The Open University (IKD)

The main focus of the Centre for Innovation, Knowledge and Development (IKD) is to explore ways that knowledge and innovation can contribute to inclusive and sustainable patterns of development. IKD does this by concentrating on three interlinked themes: innovation and international development; knowledge, capabilities and human development; and governance, management and sustainable development.

As IKD brings together nine research groups from the faculties of Social Sciences, Technology, the OU Business School and Education and Language Studies, it allows the research areas at the centre to cross traditional boundaries.
