Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC)


The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center in Bangkok (part of the Asian Institute of Technology: see separate entry) was established in January 1986 to assist countries in Asia and the Pacific region in developing their policies and capabilities related to disaster management. It offers training, technical assistance consultancy, promotion of information resource availability and dissemination, and research. Projects currently include the Asian Urban Disaster Mitigation Program (AUDMP). WWW site includes research and teaching programme information, and a full text version of Asian Disaster Management News.
