The Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) is a South African non-governmental organisation dedicated to making a meaningful contribution to peaceful and fundamental transformation in South Africa and the Southern African region.

CSVR is made up of the following interdisciplinary units and projects

  • Criminal Justice Policy Unit
  • Education and Media Unit
  • Gender Unit
  • Transition and Reconciliation Unit focussing on South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)
  • Trauma Clinic
  • Youth Department
  • City Safe
  • SADC Crime and Violence Prevention Project
  • Violence and Transition

WWW site contains details of projects, staff, internships and consultancy work. It also contains downloadable versions of research produced since 1989 on a wide variety of subjects.
