Political economy of war
- Climate change, instability and the responsibility to protect
-
Climate change has the potential to severely impact on 'community' - with mass migrations of people as they seek out ever-diminishing resources. The tensions that will accompany such shifts will present a real challenge to national security, the police and the military. However, this paper contends that there are opportunities to mitigate and prevent the socio-economic impacts of climate change and the resulting consequences for security.
