Conflict prevention

Foundation aiming to promote the advancement and diffusion of knowledge and understanding. Programme includes project on strengthening human resources in developing countries and projects on preventing deadly conflict.

Information sources include:

(a) WWW site: inlcudes information on grant conditions, recent and appplied for grants, publications list and some full-text reports.

(b) Development activity: refers only to some grants made by one of the Foundation's programs: "Strengthening Human Resources in Developing Countries", one of four program areas of the Foundation as a whole. It therefore refers only to a small proportion of all grants made and there is no separate database for "development activities".

(c) Grants: a flat-file database incorporating both textual and financial/statistical fields for the purpose of grants management, analysis and reporting. It comprises all grants and appropriations made by the Foundation since 1st October 1982, and is intended for the use of Carnegie Corporation staff members only.
