Ethical finance
BankTrack, formerly known as the Finance Advocacy or the Quantum Leap network, is a network of civil society organisations tracking the operations of the private financial sector and its effect on people and the environment.
BankTrack envisions a private financial sector strictly accountable to society at large, whose operations contribute to creating healthy and just societies and preserve the ecological well being of the planet. Its priorties inculde:
- provide up to date information to NGOs on private finance issues
- provide research support to advocacy campaigns aimed towards private financiers
- provide training for interested NGOs on structure and functioning of the private financial sector
- closely monitor the implementation of the 'Equator Principles'.
The website offers information for both the NGO as well as for the banking sector. A number of Banktrack publications are offered on the website.
