This toolkit aims to provide ideas and resources for teachers and students to work on issues of population and development within the classroom. It outlines a suggested curriculum which includes an introductory session, and a selection of handouts. The toolkit was designed with an Australian readership in mind but includes tools and activities which can be adapted to different contexts.
The toolkit's components look at:
- Australian population trends and debates
- Global population: growth, trends and issues
- Gender, development and reproductive rights: looking at linkages between environmental protection, sustainable development, reproductive health and gender equality are all interlinked
