About this Guide

Quality assured research synthesis documents from a selected set of publishers who focus is on supporting evidence-informed decision-making on issues relevant to international development

Objectives

The objectives of the Eldis "Evidence for policy and practice" Resource Guide are:
  • To provide a dedicated space for Eldis audiences to access the increasing number of resources which synthesise evidence aimed at policymakers and practitioners working in international development.
  • To recognise that there are some issues with the current “evidence” paradigm as it relates to international development policy and practice and to provide a space for the discussion of these issues and debates.

What's included

The types of documents included in the Guide are:
  • High level impact evaluations and systematic reviews that focus on policy and practice relevant to international development
  • Topic Guides, reviews and help desk query type documents from organisations that provide research and knowledge support to international donor organisations and governments. For example content produced by the four DFID Professional Evidence and Applied Knowledge Services (PEAKS) programmes
Documents included in the Guide are selected from an editorially selected set of publishers chosen because they have a specific focus on providing high quality evidence to support decision-making in international development and apply robust methodological approaches to selecting and synthesising that evidence.
