- Burma: what state humanitarianism?
-
By prioritising political concerns over humanitarian need – refusing foreign assistance due to fears of international influence – the Burmese authorities have further subjugated aid to a policy agenda. This short blog considers latest research on the state of humanitarian action and asks whether a co-option of aid by political processes could actually be useful in solving the Burmese crisis.
